Editors' recap: The dark-horse Nextel gallops on, trampling its foes! Samsung came onto the court, glowing with victory, only to be crushed by the juggernaut i95cl. It was a valiant attempt, but Samsung simply lacked the stature. The Nextel-Moto stepped up, went over the top, and advanced to the Final Four.

- "Let's see, the Moto has regular cell capabilities, and it also has walkie-talkie satellite communications. Oh, and you can drop it off a cliff and it still works. The Samsung has...flash? Sorry, if I'm in a firefight, I want an Uzi, not a peashooter. Moto, hands down."
- "Another disappointment....How can a brick-like, chirp-birdy PTT phone beat out another sexy Sprint phone? Motorola sucks but sells a lot of phones!"
- "This really isn't a contest. I dropped my i95 off a three-storey deck, and it still works great. Any phone that can take that kind of abuse rocks!"
- "Days like this are sad. What the Nextel has in terms of popular appeal, the Samsung has tenfold in terms of high-end features, killer looks, and flexibility of applications. The problem is, sometimes, the prize just doesn't go to the swiftest. A mob of Nextel fans looks like it is having the day."
- "Samsung has everything the Nextel has: Java, polyphonic ring tones, GPRS, and so on. This phone has nothing to lose. Samsung phones are generally a better quality, and battery life is much much longer."
- "It is not like the McMahon and Hogan match on WrestleMania, but it's close."
- "What more could you want from the A500? Slim, light, and a TFT display? The Nextel offers only the two-way feature, which Sprint shall be adding in the near future. If you don't mind a brick in your pocket, then go ahead with the Nextel."
- "I don't think David has a clue... Nextel will slam-dunk Sprint. Joni, reach over and slap David upside the back of his head..."
- "OK, for some reason everybody loves Nextel. I think it's because they like it when someone two-ways them in a movie or a class! The A500 is clearly a better phone at about half the size, but I doubt that will matter much in this popularity matchup..."
